Portia Kgama, 34, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the attack on Lephalale Mayor Jack Maeko s house in February.
The first suspect arrested for the attack, 38-year-old Mozambican national Joao Antonio Lucas, was denied bail and remained in custody.
Six people, including two women, arrived at Maeko s gate in three vehicles and asked the guard to see the mayor, according to Limpopo police pokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.
They attacked the guard before he could respond and entered the yard. They then tied up family members and searched the house, before stealing a Toyota SUV, which was later found abandoned outside Lephalale.
Four armed men accosted security guards at the Limpopo Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development office in Polokwane and made off with 185 laptops, police say.

Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said four armed men had accosted security guards on duty early on Tuesday. The suspects allegedly tied them up and locked them in one of the rooms, before proceeding to the offices of the director. Using trolleys, the suspects allegedly loaded 185 laptops valued at over R4 million from the office and later fled from the scene using a dark Toyota bakkie. No shots were fired.

Limpopo police have arrested two suspects linked to the attack and robbery of the house of one of the Municipal Mayors in the Waterberg District on Valentines Day.
Six suspects driving three cars attacked the security guard at the mayor’s house, entered the house and also tied everybody inside before they searched the house.
