On Sunday's For the Record, Naomi Kowles is joined by Dane County executive Joe Parisi, Mo Kharbat from SSM Health, and Dr. David Letzer from the Wisconsin Medical Society to discuss the week's rise in requirements.
Ascension Wisconsin said Tuesday that it will require employees to get the COVID-19 vaccine by Nov.12, becoming the third large health system in Wisconsin to impose the mandate.
SSM Health on June 28 and Mayo Clinic Health System on Monday announced that employees, excluding exemptions for medical or religious reasons, would be required to be vaccinated.
Ascension said the requirement will apply to all employees, excluding those medical or religious exemptions, whether they work at its hospitals and clinics or remotely.
It also will apply to people employed by subsidiaries and contractors, independent physicians and other health care providers not employed by the health system, volunteers and vendors entering its buildings.

MADISON, Wis. â The highly contagious Delta coronavirus variant could be the most prominent strain in Wisconsin communities by the end of the summer.
Thatâs according to UW-Madison Pathology Professor Dave OâConnor, whose lab does genome sequencing on coronavirus samples.
He pointed to how quickly the Delta variant, first discovered in India, spread in the UK.
âWeâre at the very beginning of that right here in Wisconsin and in Dane County,â adding that about 5 to 10% of all the viruses theyâve been sequencing in the state over the last month have been the Delta variant. âWe can expect by August itâs going to be the majority, and it might be almost all of what we see.â
