but not the fighter. all right, let s look at some analysis of what we heard. because that was pretty important testimony on behalf of george zimmerman that he really was looking for a fight, given, given that experience. what did you make of that, sunny? i don t know that that was helpful, wolf. helpful to zimmerman, you mean? yeah. you are talking about a man now being painted as someone who took mma classes, wanted to be a cop, wasn t a good fighter but carried a gun. one would think that you know he could act unreasonably when confronted with someone who its defending himself. and, so, i don t know why the only inference that comes out of that is george zimmerman isn t confrontational, george zimmerman is some one that is a kro creampuff that can t fight. he was a creampuff with an armed pistol, an armed weapon. i don t know that that kind of
less than a 1? yes. so less than a year, give or take a few months he was involved in your facility in grappling, he got from a 0.5 to what rating would you give him on your scale? maybe a 1. why so little progress? well, it s not that he made such little progress. it s a tremendous amount of work. john, let me start with you. george zimmerman was taken mma classes for close to a year. his trainer says he was not athletic or physically adept, only at a 1.5 skill level. how might the jury react? well, i think the jury will be impressed by the fact that he has had the training, and that he had been there for a period of time. they would be less impressed that he had no ability and that he didn t have the ability to remove trayvon martin or he had no ability to defend himself. at issue for the jury will be
analyst lisa bloom. we ve been dealing all day with the character issues. people coming up and saying who george zimmerman was. now we have somebody basically testifying george zimmerman was a super wimp even though he took mma classes over and over and over. at what point would the state be able to open a door to talk about some of the other issues of george zimmerman s characters that have so far not been allowed in the battery against the cop, the domestic violence situation. how likely would it be for the state to find an avenue to bring in that sort of stuff? that s an outstanding question. so technically today these have not been character witnesses, even though anybody watching the trial would think that they were. they were testifying about a specific issue in the trial. we heard a lot of witnesses, heard the 911 call. they said, oh, yeah, that s george zimmerman. i know for sure that s george zimmerman. just as background they talked about their relationship with him, what a
i had to offer a guy money if he would take his shirt off and show me his chest. gretchen: i m sorry i asked. good thing it was a guy. brian: i loved the m.m.a. classes you taught. you went in front of experienced fighters and introduced as the lead fighter and you just rolled around. we had to teach our technique, which was grappling. we just held each other and rolled. and then we made the whole class do it. they ll do a lot when they think you re a ninja [ laughter ] brian: how much more do you have left in you? we got another season. it will air in mid to late summer. there is a lot of people in new york. steve: in practical jokers, thursdays at 10 on true tv. thank you very much.
