Holidaymakers are increasingly shunning the traditional way of looking up hotels for accommodation whenever they want to travel the world.
Instead, many people now look for residential property that rents out on a short-term basis to travellers.
It can be anything from a house, a single room, a boat or even a treehouse.
This is what is popularly known as Airbnb, which stands for Air Bed and Breakfast.
Airbnb is a lucrative business started in the United States in 2012, described as an online vacation rental marketplace.

When the time comes and you need to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, will you seek refuge in that holiday home in the countryside or a high-end hotel outside town?
Developers’ recent appetite for holiday homes may just be the clearest indicator of where people’s preferences lie.
Perhaps because of the Covid-19 disease, which has dealt a devastating blow to the tourism industry, stories about the rising popularity of holiday homes have been fewer than they should.

A Lamu MCA is likely to lose his seat after he was found guilty of planning and attempting to break out three convicted drug traffickers from prison.
Mkomani Ward MCA Yahya Ahmed Shee was detained at Hindi GK Prison in Lamu West ahead of being arraigned in court for sentencing.
He was charged with six counts, including forcefully attempting to break free one of the convicts who was sentenced to 20 years for drug peddling on June 2, 2017.
The second and third counts were trying to break out the two other convicts who had been jailed for 10 years and 5 years respectively.
