The City of Charlottetown has released a forensic audit report that was prompted by a whistleblower complaint, after councillors voted 7-2 to do so during a special meeting held Monday night.
Charlottetown City Council has spent more time in closed-door meetings so far in 2023 than in open sessions of council, according to a review of publicly-available records by CBC.
Audited statements show a $3.6 million surplus for the City of Charlottetown for the fiscal year that ended in March, but some councillors want to take a closer look at the report.
