POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) For the fourth time this baseball season, Landon Gartman has been named Mississippiâs best junior college pitcher.
Earlier this week, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference announced that the Wildcatsâ right-hander had been named the leagueâs âPitcher of the Week.â

POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WDAM) â Pearl River Community College pitcher Landon Gartman was named âPitcher of the Weekâ by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference.
It marked the second time this season Gartman has earned the award.
Gartman earned the honor after helping the seventh-ranked Wildcats to a 9-0 win on March 3 over then-fourth-ranked Northwest Community College.

SUMMIT, Miss. (WDAM) – Trailing by 14 points with less than six minutes to play in the third quarter, No. 2 Jones College used a 19-0 run to take control and pull away for a 58-44-win recently at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
The Lady Bobcats (10-0, 8-0 Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference) remained unbeaten with the win, but it wasn’t easy.

The result: The No. 5 Lady Bobcats picked up a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents in a six-day span.

ELLISVILLE, MIss. (WDAM) – Lekera Hughes scored a career-high 18 points – all in the first half – to help No. 7 Jones College to an 81-59 victory over Southwest Mississippi Community College Thursday night at A.B. Howard Gymnasium.
It was the 23rd straight win at home for the Bobcats (4-0).
