EID Parry (India) Limited, one of the largest manufacturers of sugar in India and part of Murugappa Group, has reported a standalone Profit of Rs 339 Crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2020 as against a loss of Rs 20 Crore during the same period last year. Revenue from operations for the quarter ended December 31, 2020 was Rs 439 crore in comparison to the corresponding quarter of previous year of Rs 437 Crore, a year ago. Consolidated revenue from operations for the quarter ended December 31, 2020 was up 15 per cent at Rs 4,701 crore, from Rs 4,082 crore a year ago. Earning before depreciation, interest and taxes (EBITDA) and before exceptional item for the quarter ended December 31, 2020 was Rs 559 Crore, up 10 per cent over the corresponding quarter of previous year of Rs 509 Crore. Consolidated profit after tax and non-controlling interest was Rs 107 Crore compared to Rs 157 Crore in corresponding quarter of previous year.

The company has reported total income of Rs.4694.67 crores during the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.5849.87 crores during the period ended September 30, 2020.
The company has posted net profit / (loss) of Rs.106.58 crores for the period ended December 31, 2020 as against net profit / (loss) of Rs.317.80 crores for the period ended September 30, 2020.
The company has reported EPS of Rs.5.98 for the period ended December 31, 2020 as compared to Rs.17.90 for the period ended September 30, 2020.

President Ram Nath Kovind addressed a joint session of the Parliament on Friday to mark the beginning of the Budget Session and paid tributes to late President Pranab Mukherjee and also lauded India for its massive vaccination drive.
President Ram Nath Kovind said, “It is a matter of pride that India is running the biggest vaccination programme in the world. Both vaccines of this programme are made in India. In this crisis, India shouldered its responsibility towards mankind and provided lakhs of doses of vaccines to several nations.”
Speaking on the contentious issue of retaining the Minimum Selling Price (MSP) regime, President Kovind said, “We implemented the Swaminathan Commission report on MSP. We are focussing on micro irrigation.”
