My home local, new york city, today is the first day of school for those kids, so i am wishing them the best year, even though its 95 degrees heat, which is always a problem everywhere when you dont have air conditioning, but i think whats happened is the same problems that afflict the nation afflict schools because schools are a melting pot of everything going on in the nation, the salad bowl, whatever you want to say. We deal with everything thats going on. So the division, the hate, the disinformation, is all really hard to overcome when what we should be doing in schools is having a welcome environment and ensuring every school, every public school, is a place parents want to send their kids, Educators Want to work and kids thrive. Theres a lot of effects of covid as well as position and inequities and climate issues that we have to deal with. Loneliness, learning loss. The disconnection that kids still feel. And so it makes it much harder when teachers are underpaid and overworked

Theyre right by all of this dry grass. Were midway through the fire season and grass like this will likely not get any drier so the potential for fire is great. Its the dog days of summer and its supposed to get drier. This would go up in a half hour. This will be toast. Reporter calfire is also on alert given the High Temperature could mean increased fire activity. This years drought not helping. As the drier conditions come through like this weekend were going to experience as everybody is. Yeah, a little more attuned to whats going on and a little more active as far as paying attention to how the weather is going to affect the fire conditions. Reporter Police Stopped this weekend its been a long and active fire season for calfire alone. Most started by carelessness. The dry grass can easily start fires. Those are the type of things were looking for. Back at the garlic festival, half a dozen large shade canopies and even rain rooms are set up as well as two water stations if needed.
