Three factors defined 2020 dairy financials
If volatility has been the defining characteristic of the dairy industry during the last few decades, 2020 was one for the record books. As last year’s books get finalized, Cornell’s Chris Wolf explained that three factors contributed to the financial health of dairy farms.
“We’re starting to get some idea of what the dairy farm financials looked like for 2020,” he explained during the February 17
Hoard’s Dairyman DairyLivestream. “There’s a pretty wide range of performances; maybe even wider than what we’ve seen in recent years.”

Marty Schuma has been elected as president of The Montana Contractors Association for 2021.
Schuma is president of Dick Anderson Construction. He joined the firm in 1992 as a project manager and was named president in 2009. He is the company s most senior LEED Accredited Professional, which reflects the firmâs commitment to environmentally responsible design and construction.
He is also the project manager for some of the most beautiful and technologically challenging buildings the company has built. DAC has offices in Helena, Billings, Bozeman, Great Falls and Missoula in Montana, Redmond, Oregon and Sheridan, Wyoming.
Schuma has been a board member for the MCA since 2015, and he represents the municipal/utility division. He replaces Bob Warren of Schellinger Construction (Columbia Falls), as president.

Sporting hero: Best known for his squash, Ed Johnson was also a keen golfer. He was pictured in 2003 after getting a hole in one. TRIBUTES have been paid to the wit, friendship and humour of a leading light of the York squash world, who has died at the age of 82. Edwin Johnson - known as Ed - died at York Hospital on January 19. He had coronavirus. A keen squash player himself, Mr Johnson helped to set up Heslington Squash Club in the early 1970s. He then created his own team, The Squash Racketeers , arranging friendly matches around the York area before setting up the York Local League Squash League in 1974.
