Liga MX giants CF Monterrey are nearing a deal to sign U.S. men’s national team striker Brandon Vazquez from FC Cincinnati, sources briefed on the deal tell The Athletic.
The deal will be in the region of $7.5 million with another $1 million in potential add-ons and a sell-on clause, those sources say.
Vazquez, 25, scored 28 goals with 12 assists across the last two MLS regular seasons and playoffs with FC Cincinnati, helping lead the club in its turnaround from last-place to Supporters’ Shield winners. Vazquez spent the first three years of his MLS career with Atlanta United before moving.
