talk about daca. i m not sure what the problem is. it has supported democratic policies when it comes to immigration. in 2013 schumer put forth legislation, 40,000s additional border agents on the border, 700 miles of fencing, a 13 year pastor citizenship when it came to doctor recipients. republicans are going back to where we were in 2013 so not sure what the fight is over. i think the president needs to do the president and republicans need to be clear.

we appreciate the support you ve given ice. i m brandon judd. the president of the national border patrol council. i ve been a border patrol agent for 21 years. i can personally tell you from the work that i have done on the southwest border that walls actually work. you hear a lot of talk from the expert that a lot of talk that there are experts that say walls don t work. i promise you if you interview border patrol agents, they will tell you walls work. i worked in arizona for ten years. we didn t have physical barriers where i was and illegal immigration and drug smuggling is out of control. we built those walls, the physical barriers and illegal immigration dropped exponentially. anywhere you look where we built walls, they have worked. they have been in absolute necessity for border patrol agents in securing the border. we need those physical barriers
the two sides are far apart. the democrats won t budge on anything for a wall or a variation thereof. the president has come down on his price tag. but it s a down payment on something further along. we could be looking at a shut down that could drag on for quite some time. look, i think the president ought to take the democrat deal saying we re going to fund the rest of the government except homeland security and would focus not on the national parks and the agriculture and the other branches of the agencies that are being hurt but focus on the defense of the homeland security. look, we need in certain places the border to have a wall. i ve been early on when the president was talking at a candidate about building a wall along the whole southern border. i mocked it. there s many parts along the 2,000 mile border where we don t need a wall. there s places where we need
frankly the wall or the barrier. i have never had anything like it in terms of calls coming in, in terms of people writing in and tweeting and doing whatever they have to do. i have never had this much support and we ve done some things as you know that have been very popular. i m going to ask brandon judd to step forward and say a few words, this group is apprehended last year 17,000 criminals trying to get across the border. 17,000. that s one category. there s plenty of others. the other thing that has been so incredible is what they have done in terms of drugs and stopping drugs. with that and with everything else, plenty unfortunately come through our certain border. i m going to ask brandon to come up and say a few words and maybe introduce our friends and some very brave people. brandon, thank you. thank you, mr. president. we appreciate all the support you ve given the border patrol.
