I don't subscribe to any premium services, but there sure is a lot of noise on Twitter tonight about Michigan hiring Jesse Minter as one of the defensive coaches (probably CB). His face is also front and center of Balas's ITF tweet. Minter is a 37-year-old and is currently the DB coach for the Baltimore Ravens, who had the #2 passing defense in the NFL this year (#1 overall defense in terms of yards per game). This was Minter's first year as the DB coach after he worked as a defensive assistant for four years.
What about Jim Harbaugh’s staff? They’re waiting, too

While we all wait on a decision from Jim Harbaugh, perhaps no one’s in limbo more than his coaching staff.
Six Michigan assistants are set to watch their contracts expire on Monday, creating confusion, unknowns and setting the stage for what could be a major overhaul to the staff.
If Harbaugh elects to stay, of course. As of Tuesday evening, there was no update between him and the University of Michigan, who reportedly offered him a contract extension last week. Harbaugh has yet to sign the new deal, while rumors continue to link him to the NFL.

Jim Harbaugh made a move on Tuesday that could signal his return to Michigan in 2021 and beyond, firing close confidant and defensive coordinator Don Brown.
Brown won over the Michigan fanbase early on in his tenure, engineering an aggressive, fun scheme that kept the Wolverines’ defense among the best of the best in college football, at least statistically.

While the Michigan football team’s defense regressed in 2020, the man in charge of it all continues to be paid handsomely.
Defensive coordinator Don Brown collected $1.7 million in base salary and bonuses this year, making him the highest paid assistant coach in the Big Ten.
The ranking comes from USA Today’s annual database of salaries for college football assistant coaches, whose pay continues to increase at exponential rates. Brown ranked eighth nationally.
