District says this alleged assault is quite possibly the brutal end result of a feud between the suspect and the victims family. The Oakland Unified School district says a woman lured the 9yearold girl away from the playground at around 10 40 a. M. And took her into a restroom at lafayette elementary school. Once in the bathroom the adult proceeded to assault the student with a hammer. This was discovered by a teacher and a School Security officer. Reporter district spokesperson troy flint says the Security Guard detained the woman who also has a child at the school until Police Arrived placing her under arrest. Police are trying to charge her with assault with a Deadly Weapon other than a firearm and mayhem. The official charges will be determined when it goes to the d. A. Monday. Reporter flynn says the woman is well known on campus because she frequently volunteers at the school.
