The beachside short-term rental will continue to be allowed in Port Sheldon, though under some new regulations, passed last week by the township board.
The Port Sheldon Township Board and Planning Commission are drafting an ordinance to regulate short-term rentals as neighboring municipalities on the lakeshore enact policies of their own.
Consumers Energy said it is hoping to start dredging in the fall and is awaiting approval from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.
