Some brave doctors have managed to carry out a hip-replacement surgery on a 10-year-old tiger at a suburban Chicago zoo.
However, the final outcome was not entirely successful as the orthopedic implant was dislodged by the big cat just after the operation, according to an Associated Press report.
The delicate procedure was carried out by a team of veterinary specialists. The vets had to first remove the original implant over the weekend and then perform an alternative procedure on Malena.
