NFL modifies Covid-19 protocols for vaccinated team personnel
From CNN s Jacob Lev
National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell has modified the league s Covid-19 protocols due to the reduced risk of infection for vaccinated players.
Goodell outlined the amended protocols in a memo sent to all NFL teams on Friday. A source provided a copy of the memo to CNN.
The NFL said that fully vaccinated team personnel will only be tested for Covid-19 once a week instead of daily tests. Last season, every personnel member was tested for the virus daily.
The memo also says that all fully vaccinated players and staff members will not need to quarantine if they come in close contact with an infected person.

In the wake of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine pause, many colleges and universities that intended to administer the single-dose vaccine to their students have pivoted their plans to use the two-dose Pfizer/BioNTech or Moderna vaccines instead – but it comes with some hurdles.
The new approach has the challenge of ensuring that students receive their second dose of vaccine, which likely will be administered off campus since the current school year is soon ending, Dr. Oscar Alleyne, chief of programs and services for the National Association of County and City Health Officials, told CNN on Wednesday.

Medicaid provides coverage to around 72 million Americans about 22 percent of the population and those numbers have risen during the coronavirus pandemic. The program is central to Biden’s promise to get more people insurance by building on Obamacare and existing programs.
