A pleasant, spring weekend continues and while there are changes on the way, the wintry weather doesn't make it here until the early hours of Monday. Until then, enjoy the rest of today and Sunday with temperatures running a bit above average. Winds are going to pick up Sunday and the high will be back down to about 50 degrees, but still a comfortably cool, spring day.
A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for Monday, starting shortly after Midnight Sunday night. As it stands right now, this storm system will make it into the Mason City and Albert Lea areas before sunrise Monday morning and snow will start to fly in Rochester between 6 AM and 9 AM Monday morning.
I expect we'll see a shovel-able, plowable snowfall in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. Amounts look to exceed 6 inches for some, especially along and south of I-90. Still, there are some uncertainties with timing and amounts of this storm system. We'll be fine-tuning totals and timing on Sunday.
