Knights of Columbus, St. Stephen's announce plan for new site

The Knights of Columbus Mary Star of the Sea Council No. 4752 will use proceeds from the recent sale of its club building and nearly nine acres of land at 1841 Whitehaven Road to repurpose, maintain and manage the former St. Stephen s R.C.

'Gowns for Prom' returns, ensuring every student in WNY has a prom gown

Jill O Malley, a Town of Tonawanda Board member, and founder of the Ken-Ton Closet, which provides free clothing to families in need, recalls the wonderful memories of her high school prom. Years ago, when she heard about students at Kenmore West and East high schools who were not attending their prom because they could not afford a dress, she knew she had to do something about it.

SOLD: Grand Island Knights of Columbus hall has new owners

James J. Panepinto, president of a 91-year-young family business, Pinto Construction Services Inc., and a long-time member of the Mary Star of the Seas Knights of Columbus Council No. 4752, has purchased the club building at 1841 Whitehaven Road, and the nearly nine acres of land behind it.

The Rotary Club of Grand Island is extremely appreciative for everyone who has donated to its unique shoe drive fundraiser. Members spent hours last weekend in the Visitor Center filling bags of shoes that will raise much-needed funds for the club, while helping others by redistributing them throughout the Funds2Orgs network of microenterprise (small business) partners.
