West Linn residents call on state to fire former Lt. Mike Stradley from state public safety training agency

About 25 people marched to the West Linn Police Department on Sunday afternoon to demand that the state fire former Lt. Michael Stradley for his role in the 2017 arrest of Michael Fesser.
They held signs saying “Police Accountability Now,” “It’s not Black vs. White It’s Everybody vs Racism” and “Fire Stradley Now!’
The wrongful theft arrest of Fesser, a Portland resident, spurred a series of city, state and federal investigations and resulted in two civil lawsuit settlements to Fesser totaling more than $1 million.

Fired West Linn Police Chief Terry Kruger claimed he had recused himself from the department s internal inquiry into Michael Fesser s allegations because of a personal relationship he had with Fesser s former boss. But Kruger repeatedly defended West Linn police actions and the arrest to the City Council and to the interim city manager.
