A prominent church leader, who is facing a charge of fraud in connection with the fraudulent submission declaring the death of his estranged wife at the department of home affairs, says he discovered on social media that she had died.
Michael Sandlana, the leader of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church’s Jerusalema faction, said he did not report his wife dead, but rather went to the department of home affairs to verify his marital status where he was informed that he was a widower. ..

Michael Sandlana, the leader of a faction of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC) was released on R5 000 bail on Monday.
Sandlana, 60, along with his lawyer, Albert Ramothwala, 45, funeral parlour employee, Oupa Mkhonza, 53, and Thabo Mosime, 48, appeared in the Alexandra magistrate s court on a charge of fraud each.

One of three men arrested in connection with the fraudulent submission declaring the death of the estranged wife of a prominent bishop to the department of home affairs allegedly lifted fingerprints from a corpse at a funeral parlour.
The three men, including a lawyer and an employee at a Pretoria funeral parlour, were arrested on Friday and Saturday in connection with a scheme to certify the wife of Michael Sandlana, the leader of a faction of the International Pentecost Holiness Church (IPHC), dead.

PRETORIA â The leader of IPHC Jerusalem, one of the three factions of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church was on Monday morning at the Sandton police station in Joburg amid what it says are orchestrated allegations and rumours of fraud in his personal estate wrangle with estranged wife Benedicta.
Without specifying whether Michael Sandlana had been arrested or not, IPHC Jerusalem spokesman Vusi Ndala said the charismatic church leader had gone to the station âin his ongoing bid to clear his nameâ in the fraud allegations.
âThe allegation is premised on the complaint laid by Ms Benedicta Sandlana, the estranged wife, and the allegations by Arnold Joseph Attorneys, her legal advisors,â Ndala said, adding that Sandlana, affectionately referred to as the âcomforterâ within the IPHC, had nothing to hide and had been an exemplary public figure in South Africa fo
