Two Suspects Arrested After Arkansas Policeman Hit, Killed by Vehicle

An Arkansas policeman was killed when he was hit by a vehicle in a convenience store parking lot and two suspects are in custody, police said.

Pea Ridge officer Kevin Apple died Saturday after being struck by the vehicle that matched the description of a vehicle sought by police, according to police Lt. Michael Lisenbee. The vehicle was parked at gas pumps at the store about 155 miles (249 kilometers) northwest of Little Rock, when Apple and another officer approached it to speak to the occupants, Lisenbee said.

Kevin Apple, an Arkansas police officer for 23 years, was run over by a vehicle that showed two suspects. US officials have sharied their thoughts and condolences.
Two Suspects Apprehended
The two suspects were swiftly apprehended as they fatally ran over as well as dragged Officer Apple as he attempted to approach the vehicle. The suspects names were Shawna Rhae Cash and Elijah Anadoloza Sr., age 22 and 18, respectively. The duo is now charged with capital murder and attempted capital murder. Their location is now in Benton County jail.
Cash and Anadoloza Sr. peeled out of a convenience store parking lot in White Oaks, Arkansas leaving Officer Apple as good as dead, says the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. The two were apprehended 100 miles north of the border in Missouri in Bella Vista.

PEA RIDGE, Ark. A Pea Ridge Officer is dead following an incident that happened Saturday morning (June 26), according to Lt. Michael Lisenbee with the Pea Ridge Police Department. Officer Kevin Dale Apple was killed in the incident while on duty.
At approximately 11:24 a.m. the Pea Ridge Police Department was alerted by Rogers Police about a vehicle they had been following. Rogers Police had been involved in a vehicle pursuit with an older model blue SUV.
Police say at 12:09 p.m., Pea Ridge Police located the vehicle parked at the White Oak gas station on N. Curtis Avenue. Officer Apple and Officer Brian Stamps attempted to make contact with the vehicle occupants, but when they did, an altercation erupted. Police say the vehicle then rammed into the police car as the suspects were fleeing, ran over Officer Apple, killing him. Officer Stamps was not injured.
