Savatiano just might secure that elusive Group 1 win yet.
The talented Godolphin mare made a statement at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday that she still has what it takes to win at racing’s highest level.
She made winning the Group 2 $200,000 Expressway Stakes (1200m) look routine, leading throughout to score effortlessly.
This was Savatiano’s fifth Group 2 win of her career and the third this season after her spring carnival successes in the Lawrence Stakes and Hot Danish Stakes.

Golden Slipper contender emerges at Rosehill Posted by: Ric Chapman+ at 1:47pm on 16/1/2021
And we just did at Rosehill.
He certainly has raced his way into Gr 1 Golden Slipper contention now after an imposing win beating ZETHUS (Exceed And Excel-Melpomene) and SING A LOVE SONG (Your Song-Xaar’s Jewel).
Prior to today, Remarque had run in two barrier trials and run them with arrogance winning both cantering home. He suggested he was the real deal and today he has confirmed it.
Trained by Team Hawkes he bounced out nicely and quickly went forward to sit on the outside of the leader Hollywood Gossip but then when he wanted to, he cruised up and took the lead away at the 300m.

Remarque, the brother of 2018 Golden Slipper winner Estijaab, won comfortably on debut and rose to the second line of betting to emulate his sibling by winning Australia s richest two-year-old race in two months time.
Remarque won two barrier trials before running out a two-length winner of the $125,000 The Agency Real Estate Handicap (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
The Snitzel colt raced on the pace for jockey Tommy Berry and broke clear on straightening, the only obvious fault in his performance was his waywardness inside the final 250 metres when spotting electronic signage boards on the infield.
Trained by John, Michael and Wayne Hawkes, the same partnership who oversaw the Golden Slipper success of Estijaab, Remarque firmed to $9 with Sportsbet for the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on March 20.
