Race Preview
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is making its second appearance on dirt this week at Knoxville Raceway. The track is known for its sprint car racing, but this will be the first time NASCAR s Trucks have taken to the circuit. The race weekend, like Bristol earlier this season, will include qualifying heats before the main event gets underway Friday night. The main race will be 150 laps divided into three stages. Teams will be able to add fuel, change tires and make handling adjustments at each stage break with the running order frozen. There will be no ability to change tires or add fuel at any point other than those breaks, and the choose rule will not be in effect. Knoxville is the first of just two races remaining in the regular season for the Trucks before Watkins Glen will finalize the playoff field.
Xfinity Breakdown: Fresh Tires Boost Kyle Busch to Surprise Henry 180 Victory at Road America
July 3, 2021
Tires were the topic of conversation for much of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Road America. Some teams planned to save enough fuel to go the entire distance of the Henry 180 on two stops to save a fresh set of tires for a late-race caution. Others wanted to pit to keep the freshest rubber underneath them at all times.
In the end, AJ Allmendinger abused his front tires as he charged through the field. Under caution for the conclusion of stage two, the No. 16 Kaulig Racing team was penalized for men over the wall too soon. Allmendinger then methodically worked his way back to the front. The race restarted for the final time with six laps remaining on lap 40, and Allmendinger took the lead from Noah Gragson in turn 9. Both were on older tires compared to third-place Kyle Busch.

ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (AP) Kyle Busch continued his perfect NASCAR Xfinity Series season Saturday at Road America.
After spinning off course twice, Busch rallied in the final stage and led the final five laps in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota for his fourth victory in four starts this year and 101st in the series.
NASCAR only allows Cup Series drivers to compete in five Xfinity and five Truck Series races a year. Busch is scheduled to enter his final Xfinity event of the season next week at Atlanta.

Race Preview
Road America will host both the NASCAR Xfinity and Cup Series races this holiday weekend. Austin Cindric won last year s Xfinity stop at the circuit from the front row. This week s lineup will be set by on-track qualifying Saturday morning before the race. Ty Gibbs, Kyle Busch, and AJ Allmendinger all have won on road courses already this season. All three of those drivers will be looking to add to their series win totals this week as well. For its part, Road America has spread the wins around. In 11 series races at the track not one repeat winner has surfaced. All but one of those races were won by drivers starting inside the first six rows, too. For those reasons, fantasy players will want to pay close attention to Friday s lone practice session, while remaining flexible with their lineups to accommodate adjustments following Saturday s qualifying.
