FTC deliver offensive festival to beat Metz

FTC deliver offensive festival to beat Metz EHF / Kevin Domas20 January 2021, 20:40 Share URL via E-Mail Copy URL to clipboard The clash between Metz and FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria was set to be a high-profile one. The French club were only two points ahead of their hosts prior to the game and had won their last four games in the DELO EHF Champions League, inflicting Rostov their first defeat of the season along the way. FTC, on the other hand, were surprised by Esbjerg last weekend, after winning three games in a row, and were looking to make up for this surprise loss by taking the points at home.

Stellar Sako guides Metz to win over Krim

Stellar Sako guides Metz to win over Krim EHF / Kevin Domas16 January 2021, 12:00 Share URL via E-Mail Copy URL to clipboard After ending Rostov’s unbeaten run last weekend, Metz travelled to Slovenia with hopes of remaining in the hunt for the top two in group A. The game was meant to be a tough one for the French side, though, as the hosts were desperately in need of points in order to secure their qualification for the next phase. In a game that lacked inspiration at times, Metz always looked in control en route to a four-goal victory. GROUP A

Ambitious Nantes bolstered by star signings

Ambitious Nantes bolstered by star signings EHF / Chris O Reilly03 January 2021, 12:00 Share URL via E-Mail Copy URL to clipboard For just the second time in the club’s history, Nantes have reached the group phase of Europe’s second-tier club competition. The last time they got this far, in 2017, they progressed to the quarter-finals, where they lost by a single goal to Metzingen, this season’s goal is to emulate that run. “Playing the EHF European League is already a motivation in itself! As our group is quite homogeneous, it will make all the matches complicated and pressured. It is really motivating to play matches where we know that each victory or defeat will have an impact on the qualification and I think the quarter-finals are within our reach,” says captain Marion Maubon.
