Holiday Open House at Mesier Homestead in Wappingers Falls Stop in to see the beautifully decorated 1st floor rooms of the 1741 Mesier Homestead, complete with candlelight, greenery, ribbons and bows. Self-guided. A docent will be available to welcome you and answer your questions about the Homestead. Free admission. No reservations are necessary. This year's open house dates are Wednesdays, 12/6, 13 & 20, and Saturday, 12/16, from 11am - 2pm. Located within Mesier Park; parking available in front of Homestead. Pathway Through History Day at Mesier Homestead in Wappingers Falls As part of New York State’s Path Through History, we will be offering a FREE interactive costumed event on Sunday, September 24th. This is a unique opportunity to discover both the history of the Homestead and the personal stories of local historic figures. While visiting the rooms of the Mesier Homestead, discover the Revolutionary War patriotism of Nicholas Brower from his wife, Sarah Brower; the influence of the Mesier family from Maria Mesier; learn about Irving Grinnell, founder of the Grinnell Library from his niece Edith Bowdoin; and hear stories from Rush Hotel owner George Rush.
