Congressman-elect Greg Landsman officially resigned his position on Cincinnati Council Monday. Shortly after, Seth Walsh took the oath of office to finish out Landsman's term, which goes through 2023.
Council Member Reggie Harris chose Walsh out of 38 applicants for the job ahead of Landsman's upcoming resignation so he can join Congress to represent Ohio's First District.
The 75-year-old building has been mostly vacant and falling into disrepair since 2008. City officials said earlier this year it needs an entirely new roof and there's significant mold and rust throughout the walls.
