Craven County Partners in Education
Weyerhaeuser and Craven County Partners In Education announced a $10,666 investment from the Weyerhaeuser Craven County office through the Weyerhaeuser Giving Fund. The funds will be used towards the Leader In Me Program at Arthur W. Edwards Elementary ($5,000) and to purchase a John Deere utility tractor for the West Craven High Agricultural program ($5,666).
Darlene Brown, executive director of Partners In Education, explains, “We are very grateful for the funding of these two grants; they will serve our students by putting them on the road to success in their chosen careers. At the heart of the Leader In Me grant are the 7 habits of highly effective people. Students and school staff are taught the 7 habits in ways and terms at each grade level in age/development appropriate ways to grow our Arthur W. Edwards Elementary students as leaders who can lead themselves, then lead others. The use of the tractor
