NEW YORK, Jan. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The American Turkish Society is pleased to announce the ninth class of Young Society Leaders, a group of 20 accomplished professionals with a demonstrated record of leadership ability and commitment to serve the U.S.-Turkish community at large. We are pleased to welcome our newest class of Young Society Leaders. Like those who came before them, they are a diverse group of young people who are becoming leaders in their respective fields and who will undoubtedly provide the future leadership of the Society and take a major role in shaping and improving Turkish American relations.We are proud to have all of them on board, said Lawrence M. The Festival will continue with weekly readings, including Apologies to Lorraine Hansberry (You Too August Wilson) by Rachel Lynett, in January 2021. New playwrights, plays and dates will be announced on Magic s website. While we may be separated physically, we are still thrilled to bring exceptional playwrights from all over to our virtual theatre space to support and celebrate the new play process in this longer format of weekly readings. The online platform allows us the gift of time with writers says Sonia Fernandez, Interim Artistic Director. Our Virgin Play festival is our opportunity to empower playwrights to get to know new writers and deepen our relationships with playwrights we love. SF’s Magic Theatre sets virtual stage for 2020 Martha Heasley Cox Virgin Play Festival
SAN FRANCISCO Magic Theatre will kick off its 2020 Martha Heasley Cox Virgin Play Festival with virtual a play reading at 8 p.m. Thursday of “When My Mama was a Hittite,” a new play by Melis Aker.
The festival will continue virtually with weekly readings, including “Apologies to Lorraine Hansberry (You Too August Wilson)” by Rachel Lynett at 6 p.m. Jan. 14.
New playwrights, plays and dates will be announced on Magic’s website.
