Bishop Robert Deeley elected chairman of National Catholic Risk Retention Group Illinois-based insurance provider National Catholic Risk Retention Group Inc. has announced that Bishop Robert Deeley has been elected chairman of the board. Since July 2019, Deeley, bishop of the Diocese of Portland, has served as the company’s episcopal moderator and as a member of the board. Deeley succeeds Father Jay Haskin of the Diocese of Burlington, Vermont, who has been chairman since 2006. Central Maine Growth Council in Waterville presented its annual “2020 Developer of the Year” award to Shane Savage, co-owner of KVConnect, also named Josh Kim its “2020 Emerging Leader of the Year Award” winner. Kim is founder and CEO of the Cubby, an online marketplace exclusively for college students. Daulton Wickenden, a personal insurance account executive at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, graduated from the Safeco Producer Development program. The University of Maine at Augusta announced that its mental health and human services bachelor’s degree program received national accreditation from the Council for Standards in Human Services Education. The five-year accreditation is the culmination of a three-year process, including a self-study and written report by the faculty of the academic program and a virtual site visit by the council’s site review team.
