Extra 400 doctors remain on ‘Covid-19’ register until June 30, 2021
Temporary registration of 400 doctors restored to the medical register during the Covid-19 pandemic has been extended to over a year.
Re-registration of doctors as a special temporary measure during the pandemic had been scheduled to end on previous named dates since being introduced a year ago, but provisions allowed for the Minister for Health to determine the appropriate date.
To date, a total of 400 doctors have been restored to the medical register for the 15-month period ending on June 30, 2021.
