It s not that Lenovo offers more ThinkPads than you can shake a stick at it s just that it would take a very long time to shake that stick at them all. The ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 (starts at $896; $1,039 as tested) is a business laptop aimed at small offices, priced below the enterprise ThinkPad T and premium ThinkPad X series (in other words, overlapping the ThinkBook series). It s a 14-inch slimline with many of the ThinkPad virtues, such as a first-class keyboard and MIL-STD 810H durability. But it s on the heavy side for a 14-inch laptop; it has only one USB-C and one USB-A port (not counting an outdated USB 2.0 port); and the power adapter steals the USB-C port. Lenovo laptops regularly earn four or four and a half stars in our review ratings, but this one falls a bit short.

Versus other compact desktops we ve seen of late, Lenovo s IdeaCentre Mini 5i (starts at $509.99; $629.99 as tested) is smaller and more stylish, while also a step up in performance. This little Lenovo is a true mini PC that s nearly the same size as the Apple Mac mini and much smaller than Windows mini-towers like the Acer Aspire TC-895-UA91 or the HP Slim Desktop. It lacks the brushed-aluminum luxury of the Mac mini, but the IdeaCentre Mini 5i adds a dash of style to its plastic chassis with a fabric top panel that will help the system blend in with modern offices or homes. Inside, our test system offers an Intel Core i5 CPU and an ample 12GB of RAM along with not one, but two, storage drives. Keeping these components cool inside such tight quarters, however, requires a cooling fan that s constantly audible.

Lenovo has simplified its mobile workstation lineup, though it still gives you three 15.6-inch models to choose from. The ThinkPad P15 (starts at $1,507; $4,886 as tested) replaces the ThinkPad P53 as the fully loaded flagship, leaving design and rendering pros and scientific and engineering analysts who want something lighter to pick the ThinkPad P1 or P15s. Equipped with a dazzling 4K display and a colossal eight-core Intel Core i9 processor and 16GB Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q GPU, our P15 test unit is as heavy as it is expensive, but it s a spectacular performer the fastest laptop workstation we ve tested, and our new Editors Choice winner in the category. Its battery life is predictably brief, and its maximum storage is a mere 4TB, but otherwise it s hard to find a flaw.
