Residents along Mearns Meadow Boulevard in North Austin witnessed major flooding due to leftover debris from the February ice storm piling up in a creek. They say the city is to blame.
Police are looking for a blue SUV in connection to the killing. Sanchez said the vehicle also could be connected to two robberies that occurred earlier that day.
The previous day, police have said, a man was shot and killed in East Austin, just west of the intersection of Wheless Lane and Manor Road. The shooting happened near an apartment complex in the area, Sanchez said.
And last Friday, a man was found in a car with gunshot wounds near the intersection of Rutland Drive and Mearns Meadow Boulevard in North Austin, police have said.
Sanchez said witnesses have told police that several men were seen running from the car to a gray Toyota or Infiniti sedan after the shooting.
