McMillen vaccine clinic shifts to Moderna
Move reflects suspension of J&J shot

The temporary halt to the use of Johnson & Johnson s one-dose COVID-19 vaccine affected this week s newly opened clinic at McMillen Park Community Center on Fort Wayne s south side.
The clinic had expected to use the Johnson & Johnson product, but was switched to the two-dose Moderna vaccine instead, said Andre Patterson, McMillen supervisor. About 300 people got shots Tuesday, and the same number was expected Wednesday, he said; the goal was 500 shots a day.

The Indiana Department of Health will hold a mass vaccination site at the McMillen Park Community Center beginning today.
The first dose of the Moderna vaccine will be administered from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning tomorrow through Thursday. The second dose will be administered May 11 through 13 at the same location. To make an appointment, residents can go to ourshot.in.gov or call 211.
Spanish and Burmese interpreters will be on site to help non-English speaking residents, Sharon Tubbs of HealthVisions Midwest of Fort Wayne said in a statement.
