Share A man who offered a ride to a student in Yarmouth this week was not trying to lure the child into the car, officials said on Friday. Yarmouth police and school officials on Thursday warned parents about an incident where a child walking on McCartney Street was approached by a man driving an SUV earlier in the week. The child refused the ride and a parent notified police of the interaction.

Not only is Clement Swaby, 34, of the 600 block of Hayes Street, charged in the burglary and ensuing theft and assault try, but he’s “a strong person of interest for us” in the Feb. 22 break-in and theft across the street, Houck said.

During that same two-day period, 14 new coronavirus-related deaths were reported, leaving the commonwealth with 24,587 since the pandemic began just over a year ago. 5.7-percent of all COVID-19 tests in the seven day period ending March 11th came back positive. Effective April 4th, Gov. Tom Wolf is lifting some restrictions on restaurants, bars and other businesses as well as increasing crowd size limits. On April 4th, restaurants will be allowed to resume bar service and purchasing food with drinks will no longer be required. The curfew for removing alcoholic drinks from tables will be lifted and indoor dining capacity will be bumped up to 75-percent for self-certifying restaurants and 50-percent that don t self-certify. Capacity for gyms, casinos, theatres and malls will be increased to 75-percent on that date as

Clement Swaby, of the 600 block of Hayes Street and formerly of Palm Beach County in Florida, broke into a home March 5 in the 400 block of McCartney Street in Easton and attempted to sexually assault two females, Northampton County District Attorney Terry Houck said in a news release.
