San Juan City starts COVID-19 inoculation drive

San Juan City Mayor Francisco Zamora said another 300 doses of the vaccine will be delivered to the San Juan Medical Center for the medical frontliners. “The vaccine rollout comes at a very significant time as almost 1 year ago, March 6, 2020, the DOH confirmed to me the first local transmission in the Philippines was a patient from Cardinal Santos Medical Center.” Zamora said in his statement posted on Facebook.

San Juan City releases advance payment for 100k doses of AstraZeneca vaccines

However, Zamora did not disclose the exact amount of the down payment, citing a non-disclosure agreement with the national government and AztraZeneca. “While waiting for the vaccines, the city is preparing for their arrival including regular simulation activities to improve the vaccination process,” the mayor said. Based on the city’s records, there are 27,065 residents, 3,456 healthcare workers in San Juan who have already pre-registered to be inoculated against the COVID-19 as of February 22.
