Have a Pedestrian Safety problem . As we learn about another deadly crash in the south bay, one east bay city is taking action to get people to slow down. Youre watching getting answers. Even though we havent had much fire activity here lately, we are still feeling the effects as smoke blows in from oregon and northern california. In the south bay today, air quality index topped 150. In gilroy and san jose. Thats a level thats considered unhealthy, especially for anyone who might have a respiratory problem like asthma. A reading in that 150 range would be like smoking half a pack of cigarettes a day. And a reading in that 50 to 100 range is like smoking a quarter pack of cigarettes in a day.
