Samsung's plan to build a $17 billion next-generation semiconductor factory in Taylor, Texas, is being called the largest direct foreign investment in Texas history.
Local government entities offered incentives packages that could be worth $650 million to the tech giant to help lure the facility to Williamson County.
Samsung recently announced Taylor would be the home of a $17 billion microchip-making facility. City leaders say they were able to seal the deal partly because of taxpayer-funded incentives.
