Nate Schweitzer, Luke Toporowski and Cole Sillinger scored for the Herd in the loss. Trent Burnham made the start in net. The Waterloo Black Hawks opened the scoring with the first two goals of the contest from Owen Ozar at 6:11 and Casey Severo at 12:27 of the first period.
