NEWARK, NJ A former Newark resident and Arts High School student was recently designated to lead a Los Angeles company s motion picture department.
Jamila Jordan-Theus, a former South Ward resident and graduate of Newark’s Arts High School and the sister of actor Michael B. Jordan, was tabbed by LA-based media company, Genius Entertainment, to head its development and production department for feature films and work alongside the company’s head of television.
As a television production broadcasting major at the Newark arts institution, a school that was the first of its kind in the U.S. when it opened its doors in 1931, Jordan-Theus will be continuing her career in media when she takes on her duties at Genius. She already has more than 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, developing and producing TV and film projects for companies such as Netflix, Disney Plus, CNN, TBS, OWN, FO
