NUTLEY, NJ The Township of Nutley Board of Commissioners issued a proclamation at the March 16, 2021 open public meeting to recognize the Nutley Irish American Association.
The proclamation was approved by Mayor Mauro Tucci, Commissioner Tom Evans, Commissioner John V. Kelly III, Commissioner Alphonse Petracco, and Commissioner Joseph P. Scarpelli.
WHEREAS, many people of Irish Heritage have made their homes in Nutley, New Jersey and have become leaders in government, education, business and science; and

NUTLEY, NJ - In honor of Black History Month, Nutley Town Hall was illuminated in the colors of the Pan-African flag Sat. Feb. 6, 2021. This was the first time Black History Month was marked in such an outward fashion.
The Pan-African flag, first adopted in 1920, consists of Red, Black, and Green stripes. As its impossible to project black light, red and green illumination was used.
Red represents the blood that united all people of Black African ancestry. It also represents the blood that was shed for liberation. Black represents black people whose existence is affirmed on the flag, and green represents the abundant wealth of the African continent.
