Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that if there is one thing that he has learned from his mother, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, it is to “stay in the system and fight” instead of giving the other side a “walk-over”.
The PPP chief made his party’s intentions clear about the option of resigning en masse from the assemblies and the proposed long march expected to start from March 26 at a luncheon meeting with the lawmakers from different parties during the campaign for the Senate elections.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Azam Swati on Sunday said that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) rejected Maulana Fazlur Rehman s candidate in the Senate election and he should now rethink siding with the opposition alliance.
The minister was addressing a press conference alongside Sadiq Sanjrani who was reelected as Senate chairman in a blow to the opposition alliance who had jointly fielded Yusuf Raza Gilani and had expected victory with their majority of 51 seats in the upper house of parliament.
The government swept away the entire election, also clinching the post of deputy chairman with Mirza Mohammad Afridi defeating the opposition s Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri.

Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday claimed that the recent Senate elections for the post of chairman and deputy chairman were engineered by state institutions.
While addressing a press conference in Peshawar, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) president asked why were the legitimate votes rejected after the conclusion of polling. The interference of institutions in the Senate elections is visible. All institutions were blind during the election of the deputy chairman.
