Maui Health holiday toy drive supports employees, families experiencing difficulties : Maui Now

Maui Health’s Medical Staff Office is launching a special Holiday Toy Drive on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, to support the children and families of Maui Health’s employees and physicians affected by the recent wildfires on Maui, and other families who have faced challenges this year.  Donations will be accepted at Maui Memorial Medical Center’s circular driveway, adjacent to the main lobby entrance, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

State Farm designates $100,000 for Maui wildfire relief : Maui Now

State Farm donated nearly $500,000 to support multiple Convoy of Hope disaster preparedness and response efforts, including $100,000 designated for the Maui wildfire, and $50,000 for Convoy’s Hurricane Idalia response.

UH Maui College culinary students pivot from food prep to packing produce  : Maui Now

Thursday mornings are particularly busy and rewarding for the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College’s culinary arts program purchasing class. Instructor Natasha Joslin and her seven students, along with some campus and community volunteers, pack up 200 boxes of local produce that are distributed later in the day to UH Maui College students and community members affected by the August wildfires.

Diamond Head Theatre's benefit performance of Mamma Mia! for Maui raises $20,011 : Maui Now

Diamond Head Theatre presented Mamma Mia! For Maui, during a special, sold-out performance on Wednesday night, in which all ticket sales went to the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund.

Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Foundation awards $300K to support victims of the Maui fires : Maui Now

The Mamoru and Aiko Takitani Foundation, Inc. (Takitani Foundation) has awarded grants totaling $300,000 in memory of Mamoru and Aiko Takitani, founders of Hawaiian Host, manufacturer of Hawaiian Host chocolates. Funding will support victims of the Maui fires and include $150,000 to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, $100,000 to Lahaina Hongwanji Mission, and $50,000 to Maui Preparatory Academy.
