The Maui Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) announced that it is accepting public comments on its 2022-2025 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).
Hāna-based nonprofit community organization Ke Ao Hāliʻi (Save Hāna Coast), in partnership with the State of Hawaiʻi, County of Maui, and Hawai‘i Land Trust, announce the purchase and protection of more than 30 acres at Makaʻalae along Maui’s Hāna coast.

Gov. David Ige stands with newly appointed state Senator Lynn DeCoite. Ige chose DeCoite from a list of three candidates to replace former state Senator J. Kalani English, who held the seat for 24 years.
Three candidates have already stepped forward to fill the now-vacant seat of Molokaʻi Representative Lynn DeCoite. Gov. David Ige recently appointed her to serve in the district’s Senate seat following former Senator J. Kalani English s retirement.
The candidates include a former Maui County Councilmember, a Hāna community leader, and a former U.S. Peace Corps volunteer.
