If you have never had the opportunity to visit historic Mattie Beal Home, you are missing out on a huge part of Lawton s history. During the past year, those opportunities went away due to social distancing and COVID 19 restrictions, however, the home of one of Lawton s very first residents is now open and ready for visitors.
I got to visit the home years ago with a group that I was part of, and if you know me at all you know that I love antiques, and history, and believe me this home is overflowing with both. Every room is appointed with treasures from years past, and it is literally like you walked back in time when you walk through those front doors. I wish I still had some of the pictures that I took. I guess I ll just have to go back!
