Joel Steinhoff, 48, of Scotia, pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree rape, felonies, prosecutors said.
He admitted to having sexual intercourse with someone under the age of 17 on two separate dates, prosecutors said.
He is to be sentenced later to a total of seven years in state prison.
Steinhoff had faced a 12-count indictment that included eight third-degree rape counts, three third-degree criminal sexual act counts and a child endangerment charge.
He had been accused of engaging in the acts from July 2020 to Dec. 6 with a 15-year-old known to him at his residence in Scotia, officials said. Scotia police identified him after his arrest as a Level 1 sex offender.

The judge in the case dismissed the felony count last month, citing insufficient evidence.
Two other charges, misdemeanor child endangerment counts, were left standing and those charges continue to be prosecuted.
Latrisha Greene was charged in January and later indicted on the evidence tampering count, accused of sending a text message to her husband from the hospital after Charlie was taken to the hospital to “clean up the house if you can.”
Prosecutors contended that amounted to tampering with a crime scene. Latrisha Greene’s attorney Danielle Neroni, however, argued there was insufficient evidence to support the charge.

Kevin Fessette, 29, was convicted in April of one count of first-degree criminal sexual act. The jury returned the guilty verdict then after approximately 30 minutes of deliberations
The trial, which began Monday and concluded Thursday, marked the first in Schenectady County since November and only the second since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The state recently allowed trials to resume again.
Judge Matthew Sypniewski then imposed the maximum term Thursday.
Fessette was originally arrested in 2019, after the child first disclosed the sexual assault.
