Farm Fire threatening homes near Interstate 15 in Hesperia

Firefighters are battling a vegetation fire near Caliente and Ranchero roads that officials say is threatening homes on the west side of Interstate 15 in the area of Hesperia and Oak Hills.
The Farm Fire consumed an estimated 150 acres, while containment stood at 0% shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, per an aircraft commander. The front of the fire, pushed by strong winds, is burning north of the railroad tracks situated north of El Centro Road on the freeway s west side.
Tom Marshall, a deputy chief with San Bernardino County Fire, told the Daily Press the fire is rapidly spreading. Marshall said crews are also battling 20-mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph that are pushing the fire northwest along the west side of the freeway.

Many from the High Desert have driven through Lucerne Valley. Perhaps on the way to Big Bear, Joshua Tree National Park or Landers to experience Giant Rock. Or, perhaps again, just to stop in town for breakfast or lunch, on the way to some heavy-duty four-wheeling in Johnson Valley.
Or, maybe, to film a movie like “Valkyrie” (2008), “Green Lantern” (2011) or “Alpha” (2018). There are many, many more films, TV series and commercials shot in Lucerne Valley, but I got lazy and decided the three most-popular films would do to make my point.
