Virginia Tech’s Kelsey Brown raced home after another low Kaia Oliver pitch escaped catcher Maxine Barnes to score the Hokies’ first run of the game. A fielding error by Barnes and an RBI double by Addy Greene followed, and Syracuse trailed 4-0 before its first chance at bat. It forced head coach Shannon Doepking to bring in freshman Jolie Gustave in relief after Oliver walked the bases loaded to start the game, threw just two strikes on 21 pitches and recorded a career-low one out.

Husker hoops signs top-20 recruiting class
The group is ranked as high as 14th nationally by 247Sports and 20th by Rivals, as both sites have the class ranked third in the Big Ten.

Husker Athletics) Nebraska’s four signees make of one of the top classes in the country, as two of the major recruiting services have updated their rankings after the start of the spring signing period.
The Huskers four-member incoming recruiting class includes incoming freshmen Bryce McGowens, Wilhelm Breidenbach and Oleg Kojenets, as well as junior college transfer Keisei Tominaga. Kojenets signed with the Huskers on April 14, while the others signed with Nebraska in November.
