Bio
I recently completed my PhD in Psychology specializing in Developmental Science at Florida International university, where I studied neurological and cognitive predictors of individual differences in young children s learning and memory abilities. Along the way, I earned a minor in Quantitative Methods and a certificate in Women s and Gender Studies. But writing was my first love ever since I was a kid journaling in her diary and writing poems about unrequited crushes. I began my venture into science communication when I was invited, along with my graduate advisor, to write a lay summary of one of our research studies for the website Atlas of Science. I then sought other opportunities to write for general audiences, interning at my university s newspaper, FIU News, as well as The National Association of Science Writers Virtual Mentoring Program. I ve also freelanced for The Open Notebook, Medium publications such as The Xylom and SciShortform, Temblor, and Massive Science. I m
