WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — State Rep. John Barrett III encouraged the town on Monday to form a broadband committee in order to tap into federal dollars allocated to help close the "digital.
The $50 million in ARPA funding, which is exclusively for digital equity activities, is meant to help address those issues. The funding has to be fully committed by the end of 2024 and fully spent by the end of 2026.
Worthington, Mass., is the latest town that has benefited from the Last Mile Program, which is working to bring high-speed Internet to 53 towns. Worthington's network is the result of a public-private partnership.
