Apple set to roll out new accessibility features ANI 20 May 2021, 18:37 GMT+10 California [US], May 20 (ANI): Tech company Apple will roll out software updates aimed to help those with cognitive, vision, mobility, and hearing disabilities. According to Mashable, the new features, coming later this year, span across all of its operating systems, including iOS, iPadOS, and WatchOS. For iOS, Apple is launching a new service called SignTime - allowing customers to communicate with AppleCare and Apple Store associates through Sign Language via a web browser. If a user plans to visit an Apple Store, they can also use SignTime to access a sign language interpreter remotely.

Instagram reels to feature ads, sticker ads to debut on Facebook stories

Photo-sharing platform Instagram has started showing advertisements in their Reels feature. The organisation has started testing advertisements in the feature in select nations like India, Brazil, Germany, and Australia, showing them in the middle of regular content posted by users. As reported by Mashable, advertisements in Instagram Reels can be as long as 30 seconds in length and will have a similar vertical and full-screen design as regular uploads on Reels . This is like how Instagram implemented ads in their Story feature, but, in contrast to Instagram Story advertisements, the ads in Instagram Reels can be commented on, liked, saved and also shared.

Twitter is testing new e-commerce features to integrate product details

Microblogging and social networking service Twitter has now started testing its new e-commerce tweet layouts, with at least one user of its Android application in Qatar spotting the new format. According to Tech Crunch, Matt Navarra, who is a UK-based social media consultant first spotted this new change and shared images credited to Yasser Masood that contrasted the simpler existing link sharing card with the upgraded shopping card. This new shopping card, which takes up a little more space in the feed, is a big blue Shop button, presumably colour-customisable along with other profile features, extending further than the current design. The card also appears to display the price pulled from the product page.
